ONENESS Consciousness: A Path to Greater Happiness, Love, and Connection:

The Power of ONENESS

I want to talk to you about the power of oneness. The idea that we are all connected, and that we are all one.

I mentioned this topic to my brother over the weekend, and he said, “Curious to hear what you mean by that.”

What I mean by that isn’t really about some old Coca Cola commercial song with everyone singing kumbayah.  It’s much more than that.

Well, let me start by saying that the world we live in today can be very divided. We are divided by race, religion, culture, politics, and so many other things. We are quick to judge and label people based on their differences, and we often forget that we are all human beings, and we all share this planet together. We are divided into a world of duality, where something is right or wrong.

But what if we shift our perspective? What if we start seeing ourselves as part of one collective consciousness, one interconnected web of life? What if we start recognizing that what we do to others, we ultimately do to ourselves? What if there was a place or should a say a space that wasn’t duality, and wasn’t bound by this physical location?

I didn’t remotely understand that concept until 5 years ago, when I actually experienced it foro myself. It was almost exactly 5 years ago to the day, I took a fall and fell backwards, hitting my head on a rock.  Initially I wasn’t really sure if there was any wrong, but there was blood coming out of my ear, and I knew that was no good!.

I couldn’t know in that moment just how significant the changes would be in my life. My skull was fractured but there was no additional internal bleeding and I was released from the hospital a few days later. I was quite coherent one moment, then unable to speak the next.  It was all very confusing to me.

And I was also in excruciating pain.  There were times, when I wanted to scream and felt like the only way to stop the pain would be to cut my head off.

That didn’t seem very practical, but it was at moments, a very real thought.  Somehow when the pain would become extreme, I would find myself with my eyes closed, transported to a soothing spot seemingly in the centre of the Universe.  Surrounded by love.  Feeling unbounded love.  Feeling unbounded joy.  Feeling totally and completely connected to all things via love.  I felt… ONENESS. It was as if love was at the centre of everything. As if love was everywhere. As if love was at the core of the very Universe and I was there observing it as well.  It was absolutely amazing experience. I don’t know of any words in English to express how profound and how deep and immense the expansiveness of the LOVE was.  When we use words like inifinite or unbounded, it still have the limiting words of finite and bounded contained within it.  And eternal refers only to time length, not size.

Then it felt like I would crash back into my body and experience the pain again and I wondered how long it would take me to get back to that place of love, joy and oneness.  I couldn’t force it.  In the midst of pain, I couldn’t just figure out how to go back to that place of peace and oneness.

In my confused state, I’m not sure what I did that allowed me to go back to that State.  I wasn’t able to control when & how I could get there. And I couldn’t actually use my words sufficiently to express to anyone else what was going on.

I remember speaking with someone who mentioned that there was a gift in my injury for me and it was up to me to come to terms with what that was.  I was in a space at the Centre of the Universe, surrounded by love and able to feel connected to all that exists in all realms.

It took a few years before the embarrassment wore off and my memory gave me the clarity to see, feel and describe what happened.

Interconnectedness

But that wasn’t the first time I experienced ONENESS for myself.  In Peru doing a sacred ceremony with a Peruvian shaman, taking the San Pedro “spirit” showed me an amazing sense of joy, peace and oneness with all things both sentient and non sentient.  Not as in a prayer or intention, but as an actual “observer” of that oneness, that connectedness between all realms both physical and spiritual.

The power of oneness lies in its ability to transcend the boundaries of time and space/place and create a sense of unity among all people. When we recognize our interconnectedness, we can start to break down the barriers that divide us and work towards a more harmonious world.

Now, I know this may sound idealistic or completely unrelated to how the concept can be applied in your daily life, but let me give you some examples of the power of oneness in action.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, we saw people come together in ways that we haven’t seen before. From healthcare workers risking their lives to save others, to neighbours checking in on each other and offering support, to countries sharing resources to help those in need. We saw that when we come together as one, we can overcome even the toughest of challenges.

There are very real advantages to connecting the physical development on this plane and the community that’s formed when we all come to together with the spiritual nature of both the earth and the heavens. Whether the physical goal is to transform a dessert in India into a thriving forest or whether it’s to link that Community to the Greater Consciousness of people from all over the world who feel that good that is being done, and the intentions to become a force for even more good.

The oneness relates to the concept of uniting the physical world with the spiritual world utilising the plane of consciousness, it’s possible to see anything and everything as if you are the observer of those invisible threads that connect us all.  That connect some more directly to the Earth, that connect some more directly to ethereal concepts.  Yet that connectedness remains between all.  That is how I view oneness.

This simple version of an invisible thread of love that connects all things leads to ONENESS.

Lately, as we’ve seen times of crisis or social movements that the power of oneness can be seen. It’s also in our daily lives, in how we interact with others and the choices we make.

When we choose to act with kindness and compassion towards others, we are creating a ripple effect that can spread far beyond what we can imagine. When we choose to listen to someone’s story and try to understand their perspective, we are building bridges of empathy and understanding that can bring people closer together.

How to Harness the Power of ONENESS

So, how do we harness the power of oneness in our own lives? Here are a few suggestions:

First, it’s important to recognize our common humanity and the unbounded soul or consciousness that lives within us all. We all want to be happy, healthy, and loved. We all experience joy, sorrow, and pain. When we recognize this, we can start to see past our differences and focus on what unites us.

Second, practice empathy and compassion. Put yourself in someone else’s shoes and try to understand their perspective. Show kindness and compassion towards others, even those who may see things differently from us.

Third, work towards a common goal. Whether it’s in your community or on a larger scale, find ways to work with others towards a common goal. When we collaborate and work together, we can achieve things that we couldn’t on our own.

Fourt, practice gratitude. When we recognize the interconnectedness of all things, we can start to see the beauty and wonder of the world around us. Take time to appreciate the people and things in your life, and recognize that we are all part of one amazing universe.

And finally, take a moment to stop and simply see as if you are the observer of your own body and your own mind.  See yourself and simply observe, that’s it.  Being present with your full awareness right now, will allow you to see the ONENESS that is within everything.

In conclusion, the power of oneness is a transformative force that has the potential to change the world. When we recognize our interconnectedness and work towards a common goal, we can break down the barriers that divide us and create a more harmonious world. It’s up to each of us to embrace this idea and take action in our own lives.

I would like to finish with a quote from Rumi “Do not feel lonely, the entire universe is inside you.
Stop acting so small. You are the universe in ecstatic motion.  Set your life on fire. Seek those who fan your flames.”
